Thanks to extensive development experience and proven application in various vehicles, we have been able to improve our controls continually and to make them particularly robust in terms of mechanical and electrical components. Hence, they are specifically suitable for mobile applications that require high-performance CPUs combined with I/O-configurations. Our controls are renowned both for powerful diagnostic and monitoring functions and for numerous communication interfaces.

The master controller I/O safety (MIOs) is the central control component in every mobile machine, used as a central vehicle computer, fuse and signal distributor, and I/O module. The computer itself has a powerful computing unit as well as extensive memory and provides several interfaces.

The master controller I/O safety (MIOs) is the central vehicle computer for construction machines, agricultural and forestry machines, and industrial trucks of all types and is tasked with processing the vehicle applications.

The central vehicle computer is used for functional vehicle and monitoring processes. The control system includes a separate safety computer which is able to implement safety functions up to a safety-related capability of performance level D category 3 according to DIN EN ISO 13849.

The MIOs.4 itself comes with more than 30 different inputs and outputs by default, which can be expanded via CIOs.2 and CIOn.2 modules. Configured as a CANopen master, the on-board computer supports several CAN-bus segments.

Add-on-Controls 

The Cust Input Output safety (CIOs) is a CAN bus-capable, optional extension module of the vehicle control system. It contains a two-channel, diverse redundant computer structure for safely obtaining the vehicle's sensory information from the digital and analog sensors and for controlling digital and analog actuators.

  • Various configurations possible; up to 13 digital inputs, 8 analog inputs, 8 digital outputs, 3 analog outputs, RS485 interface and a +5V power supply.

The Cust Input Output non safety (CIOn) is a CAN bus-capable, optional expansion module for the vehicle control system. It contains a single-channel I/O interface as well as interfaces for signal distribution and is intended for connecting further sensors and actuators to the vehicle control system.
The input information of the connected sensors is read out by the CIOn2 interface on the CAN bus of the vehicle, and the output information for controlling the outputs is received by the CIOn2 interface via the CAN bus of the vehicle.

The Power Converter (POC) is responsible for the power supply of electronic devices in vehicles with 24V on-board voltage.
The centerpiece of the power supply is a powerful DC/DC voltage converter for generating a stabilized and galvanically isolated 24V voltage to the battery voltage of the vehicle.
The output voltage of the converter is distributed to several fuse circuits and made available at the component's terminals.

Protection functions of the DC/DC converter:

  • Primary-side overcurrent protection
  • Overvoltage shutdown intermediate circuit (latching)
  • Secondary-side overcurrent protection
  • Secondary-side overvoltage protection
  • Overtemperature protection

Guidance and Navigation Controls

The IF generator (IFG) is a signal generator specially developed for inductively guided vehicles which allows impressing alternating current signals of constant amplitude and frequencies into the guide wires buried in the ground.

The IF generator enables:

  • Direct connection of up to four guide wires
  • Simultaneous connection of up to three different AC signals in a single guide wire.
  • Stepless adjustment of any frequency/current combinations between 2 ... < 9kHz and 25 ... 100mA via a PC using a serial RS232 cable
  • Four control inputs designed to program controlled ON/OFF of AC signals for stationary personal protection systems

The Wire Guidance Antenna (WGA) integrates the functions for determining the lateral distance to the conducting wire.

The component is designed to be space-optimized and highly integrated, with geometric dimensions largely determined by the space required for the internal arrangement of the sensor coils.

The Horizontal Positioning System (HPS) detects position marks on the hall floor for high-precision navigation of autonomously driving vehicles.

The component is designed as a highly integrated solution to meet even the smallest installation space requirements. RFID transponders, also called tags, are used as position marks.

Features:

  • 125kHz RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) radio technology for contactless detection and reading of transponders buried in the hall floor via a radio link
  • Programming of transponders possible without separate tools
  • Minimally invasive intervention in the hall floor for mounting the tags (drill hole depth < 20mm)
  • Exact determination of the position mark (<1cm)
